Chiropractic Marketing Online & The UNHOLY Alliance

Two factors have only recently collided to cause massive online chiropractic marketing carnage.

This first-time-ever combination is slaughtering chiropractors and leaving a trail of blood a mile long.

It’s like a scene right out of Platoon or Apocalypse Now. Only, it’s chiropractors bloodied and beaten on the battle field. Not soldiers.

Well… maybe I’m exaggerating a bit. Maybe, in fact, a lot.

But, there is a unique combination of elements costing chiropractors A HECK OF A LOT OF MONEY… that’s never been seen before in the history of chiropractic.

As weird and out-there as this sounds – these two factors are the same factors that also caused the Civil War to be the bloodiest, most devastating and costly war this country has ever faced. (Hence, my concern for our chiropractors and geeky use of war metaphors.)

Let me quickly explain.

Ever hear of the Minie Ball?

It was a new type of bullet first used during the Civil War by both sides. (I just learned that when watching the History Channel’s America: The Story Of Us.)

Well, this new bullet, and the more accurate rifle that shot it, caused massive damage to its victims when struck.

Bone, muscles, and connective tissue would be destroyed upon impact with this technological advancement in weaponry.

But, this evolution in gun power was only half the cause of the devastation and death created by the Civil War.

Even though weaponry had changed and evolved thanks to the technological advancements… battlefield techniques had remained the same.

So, imagine – weapons were more accurate and more devastating… yet… soldiers continued to fight and do battle the same old way they had once before – when they had weaker weaponry.

Well, this combination of Technological Advancement, yet the continued use of Old Fighting Tactics, was the reason the Civil War claimed hundreds of thousands of lives.

And, this is exactly why many historians refer to this combination of factors at play as the Unholy Alliance.

Today, we’re seeing the same unholy alliance at play in chiropractic. Only now, it’s NOT costing chiropractors their lives. It’s costing big-time money and sacrificing hefty profits.

Fact is: with the growth and evolution of online marketing opportunities for chiropractors in 2010, we can certainly agree there’s been a technological advancement in the way of practice-building.

Unfortunately, similar to the soldiers in the Civil War, most chiropractors are still trying to use antiquated chiropractic advertising methods with these new online technologies.

In other words, despite the fact that the internet has handed chiropractors a whole new set of different and unique marketing methods… most chiropractors are trying to go about using them the same old way they’ve been going about trying to advertise their practice for the last umpteen years.

The result…

These chiropractors are not only wasting their time and money (and hope) trying to use old marketing methods on the internet… they’re totally MISSING OUT on an incredible opportunity right now to grow their practice, income and lifestyle with the proper use of these new technologies.

Let me give you one simple example to prove my point.

Most chiropractors have a website that is really nothing more than an online brochure.

It does and says the same things of a traditional chiropractic brochure. Only online.

Chiropractors with this type of website are trying to use old methods of marketing with new technology. The result for them is a chiropractic website that does nothing to drive new patients, referrals, cash flow, etc. It’s truly a wasted opportunity and resource.

On the flip side, a tool like the Chiropractic Dashboard, for example, leverages the internet and a chiropractic website to capture leads, perform automated follow-up, welcome new patients, reactive old patients, stimulate referrals, do your networking, educate patients, and drive practice cash flow.

And, frankly, that’s the type of powerful marketing opportunities – a technological advancement – the internet hands chiropractors that older practice-building vehicles couldn’t and didn’t.

And, this is why you can’t approach the internet the same old way you have in the past – old tactics.

Today, wars are no longer fought the way they once were.

Tactics have evolved along with the weaponry.

The same must and will occur for chiropractors.
