5 Frogs and A Chiropractor…

Reading time: 3 – 4 minutes

There are 5 frogs sitting on a log in the middle of the swamp. All 5 are unhappy and dissatisfied with their lives.

After some extended complaining by all 5 frogs… 3 of the frogs decide it’s time to leap off the log, get out of the swamp, and make some life-transforming changes in hopes of living the life they always dreamed of.

How many frogs are now left on the log?

(If need be, go back and read over the two paragraphs again if that’s what it takes for you to answer the question.)

Hmmmm. Let’s see…

The story starts with 5 dissatisfied, complaining frogs. It ends with 3 of those 5 frogs deciding it was time to leap off the log. So, there’s 2 frogs left on the log, right?

WRONG.

There’s still 5 frogs left on log.

3 only “decided” it was time to leap off the log. They didn’t take any action yet and actually leap off the log.

And, until they take action, that “decision” is meaningless. The simple decision to leap in no way changes their situation until… UNTIL… they take action and actually leap.

Very similar to the way many folks – chiropractors included – approach their desired personal and professional success and achievements.

There’s a big difference between deciding on what you want for and from your chiropractic practice, and actually taking the actions necessary to bring those results about.

As I talk about in the Chiropractic Millionaire Mind Program – At the end of the day, what determines your chiropractic success is NOT… NOT… the thoughts, decisions, or positive attitude you develop and cultivate. It’s the actionable results of those things… the actions and behaviors that come from them that determine your results.

This is why, if you’re going to study successful people – as I recommend you do – you should study their actions and behaviors. Not just their philosophy or mindset.

For example: How do they invest their time? How do they manage their schedule? How do they prioritize? How quickly do they take action on their decisions? How do they manage and invest their money? How do they develop and nurture meaningful relationships. When do they go to sleep at night and when do they wake-up in the morning?

Also, when it comes to your own behavior – I recommend you develop the habit of “action orientation”. In other words, I recommend you become a chiropractor who takes action and takes it often. Especially when it comes to new decisions.

Once you’ve decided to do something, monitor how long it actually takes you to take your first action. Then, work on taking first actions quicker and quicker after a decision has been made.

Remember, deciding to do something and actually doing something are two completely different things. Deciding doesn’t change anything. Taking action on that decision is what brings about change for you.
